Step 2 - Preparing to deal with e-mails.
With Get Paid To (GPT) programs, especially Paid To Read (PTR), you will be getting a lot of e-mail. It's part of the business. There are some important things you should do to help manage all them.
The first thing you should do is sign up for an e-mail account with g-mail. This will keep your personal in-box clean. Use it for every program you sign up for, not just for PTR. Set up labels in g-mail for important e-mails, such as welcome letters with log-in information and any notifications of referral sign-ups, that you should keep.
Most of the PTR programs available give you the option, when signing up, to send all your paid e-mails to the in-box in your account instead of actually sending you an email. I highly recommend you choose this option when it is available. You have to login to read emails but it is works much better.
For any programs that don't offer in-box e-mails, use your new g-mail email account. If you want to receive fewer emails you can also choose less topics of interest when signing up for each site.
I also want to recommend having a anti-virus and anti-spyware program installed on your computer. This is just a good idea for anyone who surfs online.
Step 3 - Set up Your Payment Accounts
If you don't already have them set up, you need to have at a minimum, 2 online payment options. Most of these programs use online payment processors such as paypal, or e-gold which are the 2 I use. Some programs will pay by check which is the option I use if it's available.
Step 4 - Download Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox (free web browser) will make your life so much easier with GPT programs. It allows you have multiple tabs open at one time so that you can be working multiple programs at once. It is also more secure than Internet Explorer. In the next step, you will be joining a lot of programs. As you learn to use the multi-tab browser well, you will be able to do more in less time. I have 8-10 tabs open all the time. It also works great for the free advertising traffic exchanges so that you can surf them all at one time.
Step 5 - Join The Programs
Join Marketing Pond, Global Team Club, and Free Money Team. After you have joined these 3, join every program within each one that you can, even if you don't think you like it. Remember, the 3 main programs are down-line builders, so you can earn from referrals even if you don't plan to use the program that much. Most programs require you to log in at least once a month or your membership will be canceled.
Step 6 - Be Active in the Programs
If you want to make any money, you must be active in the programs, especially with advertising. You will find your favorites as I have. Once you find those favorites, work them daily, some even a few times a day. The other programs, you can check every few days or so. Decide how much time you have to spend with these programs. I recommend at least 1-1 1/2 hours every day. Break it up into a few different sessions throughout the day and it won't turn into work.
You don't have to spend hours everyday once you learn how to use multi-tab browsing. It takes me about an hour to run through all the programs and I spend about another 20-30 to run the traffic exchanges.
Step 7 - The Key to Success is Advertising
Advertising is what will build your referral base which is the key to making any serious income with GPT sites. You will get paid for for your referrals actions so the more referrals you get the more you can make. Marketing Pond and Free Money Team have a lot of good free advertising programs that you can use. Use them all and any other sources,such as safe-lists, banner exchanges,etc., that you think will work for you. You cannot advertise to much.
You could post on usfreeads, start a blog, build a free web site, etc. Some of the programs even have paid advertising available if you are willing to spend a little money but it's entirely up to you. I don't spend money on a program until I've made money with that program.
Another option is upgrading in the programs. Most will give you free advertising for upgrading, some will even give you random referrals.
Step 8 - Keep Records
Remember, this is a business. Get a notebook or use financial software such as Quicken, Quickbooks, etc. to keep track of all income and expenses such as upgrades and paid advertising for each program. I also track all referrals in each program so I know who is active and who isn't. I like to help my down-line build their teams and by tracking them, I can help those that are active.
Step 9 - Be Patient and Stick To The Plan
This step is very important. You will not make a lot of money with these programs overnight. It takes time and patience to build your down-line and your income. Most people that fail with GPT programs fail because they don't have the patience and dedication to stick with it. Depending on how actively you promote and get referrals, it could take a couple months to start seeing any real income at all. It could take 6 months to a year to make a serious income but it will be worth it.
Step 10 - Re-invest in Your Business
Use some of your earnings to upgrade in the programs. I don't spend any money until I've made it but some programs are definitely worth the upgrade cost and will help to increase your income even more. Look at the benefits of upgrading in each program to make sure they are worth it before you spend your hard earned dollars.
